Although each bride is different and unique in her own way, there are a few considerations that can be generalized in this case. Certain types of dresses can emphasize those parts of the body that you don’t want to be accentuated, while other styles can make you look taller, slimmer and more attractive. Therefore you need to know which types of wedding dresses are for you, and which aren’t.
In general, full figure brides avoid wearing a voluminous, layered, or too sophisticated ball gown wedding dress because it will only make them look bigger and too round. Don’t opt for tea lengths wedding dresses also, because this style can make you appear shorter than you really are, are therefore more corpulent and thick. The most suitable types of wedding dresses for plus size women are A-line shape styles. You should try first an A-line wedding dress to see if the looks are those expected.

In general, this type of dress manages to hide the extra volume from the hips or the waist line and make the body more curved and feminine. The main focus is on the upper part of the body, namely on the bust line while the lower part of the body is completely camouflaged. Nevertheless, don’t choose a too voluminous or lavish skirt. Keep it simple and clean, draping, light and casual.
Another type of suitable wedding dress for plus size women is the princess style. This type of dress has the same flattering A-line shape and a seamless waist line which manages to create the illusion of height and uninterrupted silhouette. The greatest thing about princess style wedding dresses is that the skirt starts right below the waist line, draping in a long, uninterrupted skirt that hides a larger tummy. Choose a slim skirt and not a full one.
Don’t be afraid to wear a sleeveless wedding dress because it can make you look more romantic, feminine, sensual and attractive. But if you want to hide your arm, wear a fancy bolero or opt for a cap sleeved wedding dress or a three quarter type of sleeves that can make you appear incredibly chic and stylish. Choose light-weighted sheer fabrics, such as tulle, illusion net, georgette, gazar, duchesses satin, batiste, cotton, linen, rayon or damask.
