You even consider the theme of the wedding as being the “Cinderella” one, with you as the main character (ok, not wearing an ashes stained wedding gown, but a simple cheap wedding dress) and your husband being the prince that kneels in front of you with everybody witnessing and handing you over not the shoe, but the simplest wedding ring ever. As a contrast to your gown you stage to have two bridesmaids personifying the two step-sisters wearing ball gowns not that elaborate but anyway more sophisticated than your simple cheap wedding dress.
The idea appeals to your husband as well and even your friends are enthusiastic about the opportunity to wear on your wedding occasion the ball dresses they had last worn at their prom ball. So one evening you organize with your friends the hunting for the Cinderella gown, but you aren’t able to find something to match the image of that simple girl who was chosen to try on the shoe brought by the prince. The gowns displayed on different sites present only dresses that fit mostly to the image of a Cinderella attending to the royal ball.
You are looking for something that leaves aside the choices of rich fabrics, such as silk, tulle, chiffon or other classic wedding gown materials. You have a pretty picture in your mind of the outfit you want to wear; something that is made out of very thin cotton, or even linen with some colored ribbons sewn to outline the hems of the dress, one for the round neckline, one for the cut of the shoulders, and for the bottom skirt’s hem. You would like also a ribbon sewn to outline the top of the skirt that goes from under your breast in a slightly loose material till it reaches your ankles.
Being unsatisfied with your research, you plan to go shopping and finally buy the thin white cotton fabric and the burgundy colored slim ribbon and reach home with a smile of content on your face. Then you start sketching the dress of your Cinderella themed wedding and look for the tailor to have it made. Beside the fact that you got something that you wanted you have indeed saved some money; money that you can spend for instance, on the fresh flowers of your wedding event. And you think that it doesn’t matter what you actually wear so long as love is the only thing that binds your romance and continues it through the act of the holy marriage.
Such a nice article. It was a little bit funny in the end, but it kept me want to read it until the end. It’s a nice story here and I think it’s the story of any bride who doesn’t want to wear something they find in shops, but something very original. I am not very good at drawing, but I can make myself understood really fast. So I will try to draw the wedding dress I would like to wear and go to a tailor. Fortunately I have a tailor friend, well…not quite a friend, but I know him. And he just tailors everything with style and care so that any dress coming from him looks like that of a couturier. And he is quite cheap. So going over a few steps from your article, I will go directly to him.
