For a winter time wedding when the atmosphere must be planned with the maximum care just to transform it from glacial to vivid, vibrant, sparkling and extravagant, this type of wedding dress can save you the day!

We personally adore this idea of incorporating a subtle color in a white wedding dress through a delicate detail such as a belt, a ribbon, a waist band, a bow, a flower bloom, a jewelry appliqué or a sash.

Nowadays more and more classical brides who can’t get too far from the conventions but still wish to wear something a bit more different and not that predictable should opt for a colored sash wedding gown. Since the silver hue is not practically a bold or a dramatic color even the most traditionalist brides who are afraid to stray too far from the traditional white wedding dress can try on a silver sash wedding dress and enjoy a marvelous, eye-catching, glittering and still innocent pure look.

The silver color is quite similar to white or it doesn’t go too far from what white looks or means. This nuance can easily be obtained thorough a cluster of jewels or through any other sparkling accessory appliqué.

You will be able to find many wedding dresses embellished with discreet patterns made from beads, crystals, diamonds – fake or real, pearls, rhinestones, monograms, swags, sequins, brooches or other symbols and decorative items that can beautify the classic white wedding dress and make it more remarkable and unique.

So, the silver sash can actually refer to a belt adorned with all kinds of sparkling jewels that can look like real silver, or different ribbons sprayed with twinkle decorations and embellishments. As we said in the first paragraph, not only for winter themed or for Christmas holyday weddings a silver sash wedding dress can make an ideal apparition, but also for luxurious and sophisticated weddings booked for glamorous and expensive restaurants or locals.

Even the destination bride can opt for a silver sash wedding dress since the location that she will choose (a beach or an island) will be more exotic, brilliant and twinkling.

Depending on the material of the wedding dress, the silver sash can be made from a different type of material just to add more drama and contrast, or it can be made from the same kind of fabric. In general, the most common types of sashes for wedding dresses are made from lace, illusion net, gauze, cotton, chiffon, satin or silk.

Why not make your own wedding dress belt and save some money! The Buckle Boutique has lots of great buckles that would be perfect on a sash for a wedding dress. Check it out!

I like silver a lot and I only have silver jewelery. Thus my wedding is going to be themed silver and of course that my wedding dress is going to have a silver accessory. I like these two dresses here. Both the fabrics and the cuts. I also like the silver belts used. But the dress that I like more is the second one. The touch of silver it has is so subtle and elegant. I also like the fluidity of the dress and the allure it gives a bride. The only thing I don’t like about it is the fact that it’s strapless. I think that a silver strap would have fitted the dress just perfectly.
