Perhaps a bride couldn’t wear white or disliked the idea of wearing white and she tried on a more colored and exotic wedding dress for the first time and now she is willing to respect the traditions and put on the white wedding dress than she never wore. The common meaning of white in matters of weddings is the purity, innocence and spirituality of the bride that is losing her virginity with the day of her wedding. That is why some western cultures after the World War II argued about why brides should not wear white on their second wedding.
But over time, at least in the late twenty years, the symbolism of the white wedding dress started to change. These days the wedding dress is regarded as a symbol of joy and happiness and not purity and innocence. That is why so many modern brides seem to fancy more and more those non white wedding dresses, beautifully colored in pastel or bolder hues like pale or hot pink, red, fuchsia, blue, turquoise, magenta, brown, black, yellow, green or purple.

These days, brides getting married for the second time usually wear those off-white colored wedding dresses, like ecru, cream, ivory, champagne, eggplant or blush. But brides in our modern times can wear any color for their second wedding dresses if they feel confident and comfortable in their skin. Others say that a second time bride should not wear a veil. But you can always put on a shorter or a smaller one, beautifully matched with the dress and the style of the wedding, cascading down the hair for example. But usually encore brides opt for a fashionable hat, a fanciful and stylish headpiece or a pill box.
