Red And White Wedding Dresses
Although many would claim that the white is the traditional everlasting color for the wedding dress, the Chinese, Japanese or Indian cultures are example of regions in the world where red is the wedding color for majority of the bridal ceremonies. In Chinese, brides dress in red frocks or gowns to prove their traditions and beliefs in the power of this color.

Red is considered a great proof of power, good luck and equilibrium for those who wear it, but especially for the matrimony. In India red is also the color used by most of the brides. Japan is another country where brides dress in red and white to emphasize the great significance of this color, which is the joy of a new beginning in two.
The debate between the red and white wedding dresses continues, but without succeeding in one way or the other. The fact is that both colors represent something extremely important, and no one can expect his opinion, belief and tradition to be respected by everyone. At least as long as there are so many cultural traditions in this world, and as many possibilities and designs for wedding dresses.
Besides these assumptions, red is thought to represent the color of sensuality, while the white picture the immaculate, the purity and the chastity. There is nothing wrong with this belief, especially because it’s true: brides who want to look more sexy and provocative on their wedding day go with a red tone gown. Red has a long history regarding the symbolisms and effect on women and men as well. Many may find a red wedding dress a little too much exaggerated, daring or maybe a little too rebellious attitude. Alongside the red and white wedding dresses appears the black wedding dress.
What about a black wedding dress? And where can we fit this color dress better than at a funeral ceremony, where everything must be sad and mourning. There were times when women married the men in the best gown they had at that time in their closet. And this gown happened to be mostly a dark, black nuanced dress.
Nowadays, black is back within the closets of most brides, and the motifs are pretty understandable. Some women have a strong, determined character, and the only way they can be satisfied with a wedding dress, it’s that the gown must be sober and serious.
This dress is for the bold women, who dare to show off their personality, and do not find a white, cream or ivory wedding dress very attractive. There are a few designs that highlight the beauty of the black shade, expressed in the Gothic or Halloween themed wedding gowns. Choosing a black wedding is only a personal act, and this should be respected and why not, appreciated as it is. This choice requires a lot of courage, but despite of the beauty that black dress provides, the bride must feel comfortable.11
