As everybody noticed, she looked stunning! We agree with the fact that the elegance of the dress Kate chose was based on a simple, clean and decent cut that seemed to be on the taste of many commentators and critics. Alexander McQueen is one of the most famous fashion bridal groups and Sarah Burton one of the most beloved designers who create simple and chic wedding gowns that can fit perfectly the brides who want to wear something that combines the conventional and the modern style.
Kate Middleton had the same requirement or vision regarding the way her dress must look like: simple, impeccably white, high class, exquisitely cut and extra elegant.
We think that Sarah Burton managed to create a fabulous and successful fusion between the conservative and the contemporary style, obtaining a spectacular wedding dress that really looked perfect and divine on Kate’s beautiful silhouette. She really managed to amaze everyone with this one of a kind wedding dress that looked so dandy and sophisticated, but in a very discreet and unassuming way.
Kate Middleton’s wedding dress was a big surprise for those who expected to see something more extravagant and pompous. But the dress choice was excellent because it combined in a harmonic way the sophisticated and the natural style. This is one of the many reasons for why Kate looked so feminine, precious, gallant and innocent!
We believe that the lucky princess bride was satisfied with the results, because she wore the dress impeccably well and with a distinctive type of elegance, stateliness and refinement that are specific to the royal style. Many said that the dress Kate wore at the cathedral ceremony was inspired by the fabulous gown worn by Grace Kelly at her wedding! And we tend to agree with that, especially if we are to look at the lace top, long sleeves and V-neck style adopted by both brides.
The veil – made of fine layers of silk with floral motifs chosen by Kate was just as modest and graceful as the one worn by Grace Kelly at her wedding. This famous veil was designed by the Royal School of Tailoring. Kate Middleton’s wedding dress was made of soft silk, of a romantic and timelessly elegant ivory nuance. Everything about her look was of a distinctive and adorable finesse, romanticism and daintiness that everybody appreciated.
Even the tiny lily of the valley bouquet chosen for the ceremony was able to complete her pious and sheer chaste appearance. The evening reception dress was just as simple, delicate and flattering as the one worn at the religious ceremony. The same classic (and comfy) A-line silhouette, sleek and clean, with a strapless design and an embroidered waistband!
I am so glad you posted an article on Catherine’s wedding dress. I had the chance to see the wedding when it was broadcast but not until I saw some pictures online I could see the nice flowers embroidered on her wedding dress. I could see the bodice very well, but on the skirt the flowers were not that visible on television. I really liked her dress, I think it was in fact very simple. But the details were absolutely perfect. I loved the lace of the bodice a lot and I think her dress is going to become an inspiration for many brides in the future. I for one am sure I am going to use it as a source for inspiration.
