There are no ethical differences in this field, especially because lots of brides dream of looking more and more unique, extravagant and different. No one cares that much for the white traditional wedding dress, or for the culture they were born in, because there are no more rules when it comes to modernism and contemporary wedding dresses style. But this mix of ethnic and cultural traditions in wedding dresses industry is not that bad as it may sound.
As long as ethnic wedding dresses are created by designers from all over the world it means that women are interested in other countries, religions and their specific habits and rituals, and want to explore more the cultural segment. We are talking about an extension of the area of knowledge, and that couldn’t be a bad sign.
But far from this, we understand also that people don’t respect their traditions anymore, moreover, they tend to look into their neighbor country’s tradition and steel symbols, designs and wardrobes from them. We seem to find more pleasure and interest in other religion and practices, because ours seem to be less attractive and eccentric.
But to continue the ethnic wedding dresses talk, we can give you few examples of these types of outfits and what fabrics are usually used to create them. An ethnic wedding dress from European cultures can be designed from silk chiffon, crepe satin, kente, hand woven or lace embroideries, decorative trim, jacquard fabrics or guinea brocade. If you want to add a little more specificity and tropical aspect, you can adorn your ethnic wedding dress with hand made fabrics, lace and beaded trims from Japan, Asia, Africa or South America.

Choosing an ethnic wedding dress means appreciation, respect and honor for the traditions and culture you have born in. But traditionalism is now replaced with something much exotic and breath-taking, such as are the ethnic wedding dress embroideries. Brides who are sick and tired of white, conventional,, classic and conservative wedding gown, usually go for a completely changed look and choose a foreign wedding dress and accessories.
I think that the best way to keep your own traditions alive while choosing to wear something that pertains to other cultures as well is to have a very keen eye on detail. I am more of a traditional type of bride, although I like reading a lot about other traditions. And I like to see the types of wedding dresses worn by brides of different other cultures. However, I would make a multi cultural wedding dress for myself, combining different types of cuts and sewings, or lines, but at the same time trying to keep in mind my own tradition. There are a lot of nice combinations of this sort on the market, so I think it won’t be quite a difficult choice to make.
