Dresses For Second Wedding

There are no rules or regulations regarding the attire of a second-time bride. There are only preconceptions that say that encore brides shouldn’t wear white wedding dresses or veils. But if we admit that these sayings are only old-fashioned and traditional etiquettes that no one is forced to follow today, then we can also admit that contemporary second-time brides are free to wear whatever color, style and accessory they want.

Encore brides don’t have to feel that any restriction is preventing them to wear the wedding dress of their dreams only because it’s their second marriage. In fact, encore brides need to be encouraged in following their own intuition, personal style and vision when choosing their dresses for second wedding.

No one has to sacrifice the beauty, the charm, elegance and attractiveness characteristic for any bride, just because some ancient cultural traditions (such as the western cultures) say that second time brides have to dress up more decent, modest, simple and not too extravagant. Those times when second brides felt ashamed of getting married for the second time are gone.

Nowadays every type of bride – second, petite, full figure, slim or tall is free to choose the most suitable wedding dress that can flatter their body figure and personality in a truly unique way. In general, brides getting married for the second time might want something more exciting and perhaps a little more different. If an encore bride wore a fairy-tale princess style wedding dress on her first wedding day, then it’s probably that she may ant to wear something less elaborated, sophisticated, extravagant and formal. It’s more likely to opt for a more casual, flowing or short, comfortable and yet stylish, chic and elegant wedding dress.

That is why most dresses for second weddings have simple and clean lines, and are more practical and suitable for informal wedding affairs. On the other hand, if the bride wore a simple, decent and modest wedding dress on her first wedding day, then she might want something more eye-catching, romantic, elegant, fanciful and unique this time. Since an encore bride is more mature after a marriage, the choices in matters of wedding attires might be also more settled, dutiful and quite. But this is not the case of all the second brides. Those of you who are choosing a special theme for the wedding can always choose a matching gown that can complement the wedding set.

The most popular colors for dresses for second weddings are pastel or skin toned colors, like ivory, cream, peachy, pale pink, emerald green, light yellow or clear blue sky blue and turquoise. If you’re planning an more dramatic and exquisite playful and cheerful wedding, opt for a bolder and dynamical color, like purple, hot pink, red, fuchsia, orange, deep green, lime green, navy blue, ultramarine blue, bright yellow or brown.
