A bride’s wedding dress is probably the center element of her wedding, as it is part of her appearance. It is therefore natural that she wants it to be unique and to reflect her style and preferences. With so many wonderful colored wedding dresses, it seems that many brides have given up the idea of adopting the all-white style. They accent the appearance with small colorful details or even look for wedding gowns which are colored in a bold hue, trying to look unique among the multitude of conventional brides. There are two ongoing trends: the bride either adds a touch of color on her white dress or adds a touch of white on the dress’s color.
Colored wedding dresses are usually designed in the princess style with strapless bodice or sometimes with a subtle cap sleeve. To add some pops of color, the cap sleeves, the skirt’s hemline and the waistline can be made of colored broken lace. Red is among the most popular hues used for accenting a white wedding dress, together with turquoise, black and burgundy. The combination of black and white is a very elegant one that looks great on any bride, modern or with a more conventional style. If the main color is white and black geometrical or floral embroideries are added, it can be said that the gown still preserves a traditional aspect, but receives a touch of modernism and class through tasteful and soft accents.

The choice of wedding dresses who aren’t entirely colored in an unconventional hue is perfect for the brides who aren’t against the image of a bride dressed in a white wedding gown, but want their dress to be a little different from those of most brides. Also, at a very elegant and formal wedding you may feel constraint to wear a white dress and the small colored details may be all that you could allow yourself to add.

If you want to wear a colored wedding dress, think of pale shades of the color that complements your complexion. Sometimes a bride’s favorite color cannot be chosen because it can make her look too pale or too bold and choosing a color only based on your preferences isn’t the best selection criterion. Also, the wedding dress’s color must be coordinated with that of your wedding’s bouquet. They will be joined together, will constitute your overall appearance and each slight alteration of one element’s look will dramatically influence your appearance. The colors must match, neither of them should be monopolized by the other and the final aspect should be harmonious.
