Blue Wedding Dresses

Whoever says wedding dress says white elegant long trained gown since the white color belonged to the wedding dress from medieval times, white as we know symbolizing purity and innocence exactly how the bride should be when she is coming in front of God to give herself in faith and commitment to the beloved one. But the white wedding dress was first introduced by Queen Victoria and prior to this period the bride would have worn any color except for the black which was the color of mourning or red that represented the color of prostitution.

Finland, as an exception, during the 19th century had the tradition for the brides to wear dark color, especially black. Later the white color was associated to virginity though blue at that time was related more to the purity, but actually white is a symbolic Christening gown since it was worn by girls at the first communion and their confirmation.

blue is my favorite color and for this wedding I want to wear blue. I am at my second wedding and I wore white at my first wedding. But now i consider that white is not that appropriate any more. So I discussed with my new future husband about this and he accepted, even liked the fact that I don’t want to wear white. And he will also wear blue, so we are going to be perfect matches. But although I won’t wear white, I want to wear a very beautiful wedding dress. The one you posted might not be exactly what I want, but something similar is definitely what i need.
