Black Gothic Wedding Dresses

It has been so deeply ingrained in us that the bride is supposed to wear a white wedding dress, that even today, many abide by this rule. But in this situation, tradition can be considered overrated. We should not base our decision regarding the dress we want to wear on our wedding day on custom, but on our preferences.

Because, in the end, this is our wedding and we want to wear something in accordance to our unique sense of fashion.

If you dress in a gothic style, then a black gothic wedding gown would best emphasize your personality and your preference when it comes to clothing. The gothic style is considered morbid and this is normal taking into account that this type of dressing has its origins in the Victorian cult of mourning. Of course, if you do decide to wear a black gothic gown, it does not mean that you do not feel overjoyed in your wedding day or that in a way you mourn your decision of getting married. It is simply your way of making a statement through your clothing and people should not begin judging you and labeling you as a dark, sinister person, with hidden thoughts.

The black gothic dress is not only eccentric, but impressive in its unique design. The dress can consist of a corset and a long princess skirt. Although you opt for the color black, you can add a few details, such as jewelry, on the dress to bring some extra spark. The gothic gown can also be inspired from the Victorian age. By choosing this particular model, you end up with a sophisticated, vintage look, and you detach yourself from the more morbid aspect conveyed to gothic dresses in general.

One way to stand out even more is to have some red details attached to the black dress or to simply carry a red rose bridal bouquet. In this manner, you will break away from the pattern of having a white wedding and you will amaze your guest with your bold choice of dress.
