Black and white wedding gown dresses

More and more 2010 brides are attracted to the idea of planning and spending a black and white wedding. This marvelous theme or color scheme is one of the most spectacular ones that a couple can choose for a modern wedding with a bit of a classy stylish twist.

Due to the unique combination between the black and white colors, this theme can be often seen in wedding decors, in wedding cakes, in wedding bouquets and in wedding dresses, of course. Brides are mad about this mixture when it comes to wedding dresses, especially those who are planning a semi-traditional wedding and are looking to complete the theme.

Women who adore the vintage or the antique style of the ‘40s or ‘60s era can easily opt for a black and white wedding gown dress. Antique wedding events are in vogue especially this year and so a black and white themed wedding gown dress can only suit wonderfully any type of bride dreaming on this certain look.

There is a special old elegance, refinement, sleekness, daintiness, style, class and simple sophistication that belongs to the vintage era that all of us still yearn for. That is why so many brides of the moment are crazy about wearing a vintage themed dress on the big day.

Among other color palettes that can make a wedding dress look more vintage and more “old-fashioned” in the good sense are: silver wedding dresses, pearl gray wedding dresses, cream wedding dresses, beige wedding dresses, champagne wedding dresses, ivory wedding dresses, vintage orange wedding dresses, peach wedding dresses, violet wedding dresses, chocolate brown wedding dresses, turquoise wedding dresses, blush wedding dresses, ruby rose wedding dresses, buttercup yellow wedding dresses, maroon wedding dresses, lime green, sage green or forest green wedding dresses, bronze wedding dresses, gold wedding dresses, plum wedding dresses, metal wedding dresses, pale blue wedding dresses olive green wedding dresses, tomato red wedding dresses, red scarlet wedding dresses or eggplant wedding dresses.

The black and white wedding gown dress that you choose for your wedding can feature a simple and clean soft design or a more elaborated and extravagant or sophisticated one, depending on your personal style and the formality, location and theme of the wedding.

A black and white wedding gown dress can suit a Gothic themed wedding, a dark themed wedding, a punk rock themed wedding or any classy fancy and sophisticated antique themed wedding.

If you are interested in wearing something truly special and unique featuring this color scheme, you can always get inspired from the Audrey Hepburn style movie dresses. Depending on your preferences, you can choose to incorporate the black color in a white wedding dress or vice versa, using sashes, jewel appliqués, different floral patterns, ribbons, flowers or bows.

The dresses in these pictures are nice, indeed but they simply don’t strike me as being appropriate for a bride. They are more something I would see women wearing at a charitable gala or a banquet of some sort but a bride wearing both black and white strikes to me as Cruela De Vil.

I think black and white wedding dresses are appropriate for a wedding if and only if the bride cares nothing about what people say. So if you want to shock, to be extravagant and to show you are equal to your future husband, then black and white wedding dresses are nice. By equal I mean only in colors. If men wear black tuxedos and white shirt – as a traditional men wedding look- why not women wear at least the same colors? However, I find this wedding dresses very nice, especially the second one. The lines and the black roses are very inspirational. Because I would wear that dress on my own wedding with the big change of embroidering those roses in a more subtle color. This is why I always look for colored wedding dresses, because they are inspirational.
