Already Worn Wedding Dresses

What would be the point of buying a brand new designer wedding dress that will only catch tones of dust in your closet after the wedding, when you might as well buy an already worn wedding dress! At least this way you’ll know for sure that you didn’t paid a fortune on a dress that you’ll only be wearing once.

More than half of modern brides are dealing with a tight wedding budget that doesn’t allow them to purchase a very expensive wedding dress and that is why so many of them are finally deciding to make a move towards an already worn wedding dress. It seems that financial problems that we’re all dealing with are even more important than our looks.

Even so, it wouldn’t be fair to say that an already worn wedding dress can’t make a modern bride look as beautiful, attractive, feminine and stylish as if she was wearing a brand new wedding dress.

In fact, more and more contemporary brides-to-be are attracted now to the idea of wearing a vintage, antique, period or old wedding dress on their big wedding day. And many of these vintage or century wedding dresses can be found in thrift stores, second hand bridal boutiques or consignments

Then, isn’t so that a vintage already worn wedding dress can be fashionable, wearable and desired in the same way as a designer wedding dress? Surely so! Therefore, if you’re one of those brides who doesn’t have a very generous wedding budget that can ensure you the most expensive wedding dress of your dreams you can easily call on an already worn wedding dress.

Don’t be ashamed to do it, at least as long as you’re not the only one. Even celebrities or famous brides in Hollywood tried an already worn wedding dress and some of them even bought one for their wedding day. Since the classy, antique or middle-age look is the one that sets the trend this year, you should not escape this chance of buying a less expensive already worn wedding dress that can offer you the bridal looks of any bride’s modern dream. You can search for already worn wedding dresses on Ebay, in thrift stores, in vintage clothing boutiques, in consignments or online, on different websites or personal blogs that provide with such types of dresses.

Just be careful with the condition of the pre-worn wedding dress that you’re about to buy. Make sure that it doesn’t need too much reparation processes and if it does, ensure yourself that the stains or the ruptures are easily fixable. Don’t throw your money on a second hand wedding dress that is completely ruined, unraveled, damaged and stained. Make sure that the money you’ll be spending on the reparation is really worth the trouble.

If I were to buy an already worn wedding dress then I’ll buy it from a friend or someone I know, maybe from little shops, but not without seeing it. You’ve mentioned here only budget issues and time, modernity issues related to wearing this type of dress. But how about not finding the dress that would suit your body? A cousin of mine got married a couple of years ago and she wore an already worn dress. Her reason was this: she is a very short person, not very slim, and it’s very difficult for her to find clothes that won’t require fixing and the kind. But she saw this dress at another wedding. The bride was almost the same height and was OK with selling her dress. And let me tell you that my cousin looked beautiful and no one knew that it wasn’t a new dress.
